Matt Davignon - SoftWetFish ($13) SoftWetFish is Matt's second CD to use drum machine as the only sound source (after 2005's "Bwoo"). Not at all like the rhythms and beats one would expect, the sounds are very abstract, characterized by organic tapestries, drones, frantic passages and lovely flaws. CD Info/Reviews

Matt Davignon - “Bwoo”: ($13) Matt’s first cd of music for drum machine. None of the tracks on “bwoo” contain the traditional use of beats. Instead, the instrument is processed through several different sound-altering devices and samplers in real-time, creating gurgles, hums, chirps and surreal, otherworldly music. Matt Davignon – “Music at ½ Speed” ($12)
For fans of slow-motion music. Matt gathered several of his old 4-track tapes from 1994 to 1997 and mixed new versions of several tracks at half speed and often backwards. Listeners are not expected to have heard the originals – they’ve never been released, but they included bizarre pop songs and 4/4 electronic experimentation influenced by industrial music. This collection represents some of the most unusual 4/4 music ever heard, or an extreme close-up view of the building blocks of sound. Original instruments include drum machine, sampler, guitar, bass guitar, tape, keyboards, television, violin, harmonica, toys and many effects units.

Muck – “Roc” ($10) Despite claims otherwise, Muck is Ernesto Diaz-Infante, Matt Davignon & Marjorie Sturm. The “Roc” cd includes textural, slow motion, surrealistic rock music made from samples, acoustic instruments and assorted detritus. “The strangest, most disconcerting take on any kind of so-called post-rock I have heard to this day.” - Francois Coutre (All Music Guide) Reviews and Ordering info at Pax Recordings Download at Emusic.com
Matt Davignon – “Charcoal” EP Recorded in 1999 as a companion EP to the 1998 cd "5 Spots". All the sounds come directly from a "5 Spots" cd, but in most cases they are completely new songs rather than remixes. This was the last recording that Matt made to 4-track cassette. It was originally released in 2004 CD Info 9, 11, 8, 1
Matt Davignon – “Yellow” EP Recorded and released in 2004, "Yellow" begins exploring sound ideas that will later turn up in "Bwoo" and "SoftWetFish". Instead of a drum machine, the sound source is a 100 voice keyboard, run through a large variety of 'tablecore' effects pedals. a love letter to the lo-fi properties of recording on tape - especially the decay of very old, improperly cared-for recordings. & - “&”: ($10) An entirely acoustic collaboration between Matt Davignon and Rafter Roberts. The main instruments used were prepared out-of-tune guitars. An entire list of instruments would fill an entire page. Listeners have compared this disc to the music of Harry Partch, Renaldo & The Loaf, and Bradford Reed. These days, Rafter lives in San Diego, where he’s a central figure of the local independent music scene.

Matt Davignon – “5 Spots” ($10) Released in 1998, this was originally supposed to be a disc of music only for bass guitar, manipulated with loops and effects. The disc contains minimal experiments, fairly simple musical structures and improvisations with a heavy focus on presenting sounds in new contexts. As the CD progressed, other instruments found their way in, including acoustic guitar, CD player, sampler, sk-1 and voice. Order from Edgetone/UIRC
